BMD reports also include:44

  • Internal tracking information including demographic data and indications for the study.
  • Comments on the validity of the study, including comments on the proper positioning of the patient and possible artifacts, such as the presence of osteophytes, or aortic calcifications.
  • Comparison of previous values, if applicable. When making comparisons with previous examinations, it is important to note the equipment used. For example, comparison of BMD using the same technologies, but different manufacturers, may not be valid because of product variables.
